Expert networks

The WFD Board is responsible to nominate WFD Experts and also to establish groups in areas identified to be a priority. At the moment there are ten (10) WFD Expert groups: Bioethics, Deaf Senior Citizens, Deaf Women, Developing Countries, Education, Human Rights, Lesbian, Gay, Transgender & Bisexual (LGTB), Mental Health, Sign Language and Universal Design.

Each group of the expert group has one (1) coordinator who is responsible to coordinate activities and tasks of the WFD Experts.

The WFD General Secretariat has overall responsibility for the Expert Network, and serves as a liaison between the Coordinator and the Board. The Coordinator is to give work reports to the General Secretariat and the reports would be distributed to the Board and other Expert Groups. The reports can be put into the WFD newsletter and the website for information.

The Coordinator and Experts may also be requested to provide technical aid and expert advice, either directly or indirectly, to the General Secretariat and WFD Ordinary Members. They could also represent WFD in various meetings, seminars, conferences, and also to write articles, when needed.

The WFD Coordinator (s) and Experts serve as volunteers to WFD.
