WFD Staff Profiles:
There are two full time salaried staff members in the WFD Headquarters Office in Finland, Helsinki, who have been
assisting the WFD administration and carrying on the functions of the WFD office, Phillipa Sandholm and Laura Pajunen.
They work with the WFD administration who provide services on a voluntary basis: Markku Jokinen, WFD President, Dr.
Liisa Kauppinen, WFD President Emeritia and FAD Executive Director, Mr. Knud Sondergaard, WFD Administration Officer,
and Dr. Roz Rosen, WFD International Officer.

Phillipa Sandholm is the Administrative Secretary. Born in Australia, she moved to Finland in 1991.
She is married and has four daughters. She was educated in a secretarial college in Australia, and was an
exchange student to USA for a year a school for the Deaf. Her hobbies are travelling, reading, cooking,
corresponding with friends and aerobics. |

Laura Pajunen is the Assistant to the WFD President. She started as an assistant in August 2005, after
three years of working experience related to international, globalisation and refugee issues. She has studied
Political Science at the University of Helsinki with a focus on international relations. She has an addiction
to news and cats. |

Meri Hyrske-Fischer, is working as the Assistant to the WFD President until the end of 2008. She graduated from the University of Helsinki in March 2008, her majors being political history and French. In addition she has studied political science and participated in a one year programme in International Careers. She loves to travel and enjoys learning new things. Meri plays basket ball and recently started two new sports disciplines: dancing and tennis. |
